Last year as we walked through over 300 churches all across the country we noticed a problem. Churches are growing, adding new campuses, and relying on new technology systems for their weekend services, but are seriously struggling to hire quality staff.
The problem is not getting people to apply. There are plenty of resumes coming in. Rather, the problem is that no applicants have the needed experience to step into the role the church desperately needs.
We understand that there is no shortcut to leadership experience, technical knowledge or skill. It’s all learned along the way. But what is the right next step for people who want to serve the church but have not been given the opportunity to learn and grow in an environment that is safe to fail?
